Studio One: Record Takes

Posted on June 25, 2022June 25, 2022 By Realto No Comments on Studio One: Record Takes

SHIFT + ALT + R

  • Click on Record Takes for MIDI tracks
  • Click on Takes to Layers for audio tracks

Note: This setting records new versions of tracks as you record. If you record in a loop, when the loop starts over a new “take” is created. If you want to create a new recorded version, you first need to delete the current take in the track. The actual takes will still be retained in layers below the tracks.

Additional Comment: If you normalize the current top take in an audio track, that doesn’t affect the original take so if you need to restore it, delete the normalized version and promote the track you want to use again.
